Can you take such a case to the UK courts despite teh actual crime taking place in Pakistan. It was committed by a UK resident against another UK resident, over a car that was shipped from UK to Pakistan,

It depends where the contract took place. If it was in the UK, then yes.

But as you say it happened in Pakistan, then the UK courts has no jurisdiction to hear the case.

Thanks. The contract was with UK shipping company but the fraud happened under the orders of the UK resident once the shipping had reached its destinnation in Pakistan.
I have been told that under certain circumstances one can appeal to UK civil law to hear the case. (under rule 6.20)
