Think I have been caught speeding

Think I was caught speeding this morning by a mobile speed van. His bonnet was facing towards me and he was parked on the central reservation. Is it true they can only clock your speside and back?

I am also only in the first two years of driving, I was told that there was a probation for the first 2 yrs and wondered if I will get normal fine and 3 points or more?

Can anyone help?

no, they can also clock you from the front. If you get 6 points in the first 2 yars of driving, you automatically have your liscense revoked. depending on what speed you were caught at you might be offered a driving course instead of points, but usually it is a 3points and 60 pound fine. unless you were going well over the speed limit (say, 100mph in a 30 mph zone) in which case you could get disqualification

You would of naturally looked at the speedo if you thought you were speeding, otherwise how would you know that you ''were speeding''?

the problem is i didnt actually see that it was a police van until i got very close. it wasnt visible enough

its irrelavant if it was a ''police van'' or an ''ice cream van''.

You must of known what speed you were doing if you reckon you might have been done for speeding, i fail to see why you haven't noticed your speed?

i think i was going about 40-45mph then i saw the van and started to slow down but not sure if i slowed down in time

40/45mph in what speed zone? ie 20,30,40 etc

If you are going to get done it usually happens within 2 weeks

You drive at 30 mph and keep to the speed limit and see the queue that builds up behind lol

i do normally drive the speed limits i just dont know what happened this morning

Do you all reckon that you have never done 33 in a 30 or 42 in a 40?
