Following my house being damaged in the July floods My insurers have put the work out to tender but only to those builders on their approved list. I wish to seek a cash settlement so as to employ my own local buildersbut the insurers refuse to divulge the winning tender amount. Can I legally reguest they divulge the amount to me.

Once you took out the insurance you agreed to their terms and conditions.
Its done to make sure the insured has the work done, not just uses the money for something else.
Their obligation to you is to restore the property to its previous condition.
