My new address seems to be blacklisted
I have just moved into our new home and i am getting lots of callers asking for monies owed by the previouse owners.
I have tried to get previouse owners forwarding address , but without any sucsess.
How do I stop this from happening again.

If you get doorstep visitors just tell them you are not Jo bloggs and you dont know where they have gone.
Also your address will not be blacklisted, credit is against a person, not an address

a bad address cannot mean future problems unless you either have a financial link to the person who has had problems (eg joint bills) or you have the same name as that person.
The major credit companies are actually
Http://www.equifax.co.uk
http://www.experian.co.uk
http://www.callcredit.co.uk
CNN is actually a news company which is American based.
You should get in touch with the above companies and get a copy of your credit report if you are in any doubt. Just get a basic copy (2.00) rather than the expensive ones.
Another tip is to make sure you go on Voters Role. This will help you get credit in future.

Credit checks are made against you and those living at the same address. Get your credit reference file and make sure you disassociate yourself from the previous occupants.
For more information about your credit reference file visit the Information Commissioner's Office website. It's got the contact details of the three major credit reference agencies.
They've got an excellent leaflet - credit explained - which tells how you can check your credit file and what you can do if things go wrong.

im still getting letters for previous owners of my home with court threats and i've been here 3 years!! i sent back over 200 letters when i first moved in and i still send back letters now. i continuously call these companies too to tell them and they still write because they have to prove they've tried to make some sort of contact with the person whether they live there or not
