Objections to marriage

A friend of my wife was told that only certain people could place an objection to a marriage, in the part of the ceremony where the congregation is asked if there is any just impediment (must be a landowner or have a certain amount of money). I think that anybody who has a valid reason can stop the ceremony. Does anybody know of a website that gives details of this.

Here is a little bit of information:

During this 15-day notice period any person can register a "caveat" using forms obtained from the register office, giving a legal reason why the wedding cannot proceed.

This is why a notice of an intended wedding must be displayed to the public for 15 days before the wedding, and why any wedding venue must have public access - so objections can be made during the ceremony.
