inapropiate action by the council
i am on the list for housing off the council in bham they make 3 offers i have had 1 offer which i refused i had a 2nd offer of which was a 1 bedroomed flat for me and my son who was 11 at the time the council disregarded and said i should not of been offered in the first place i was given a3rd offer of which i shall also refuse 3 bedroomed house in basall heath we live over east bham and my son attends a school in ****** green i work in stetchford considering all of the talk they say we have no family houses for people with more then one child i find this amazing that i should be offered a house can anyone tell me have i got to take it and have igot grounds to decline it

But, to answer your question, If that's their rule, then, no, you don't have to take it but it may mean you having to move to the back of the queue again. That's what happens with my local authority.

lol you clearly know tis place well whickerman., although as far as i know, council husing isnt free.
I dont see why you should have to accept something that is unsuitable (although had you thought about moving schools?) However as wm said, if it is their policy to chuck you off the list when they've offereda and youve declined 3 times then that's up to them and back to the bottom or even off the list you go. What is unsuitable about where you are living now? you must be in private housing now, so if it is unsuitable just get somewhere else
