Im sorry..
I know in companies, well, as far as i know, you can not evict someone from a house/residence unless there is a default on paying rent, is this the same for a landlord evicting someone?
Just trying to help someone who is facing being evicted by their own brother even though rent is always paid on time & the place is a right **** hole that she is currently paying herself to have done up?

Basically anything that breached the tenancy agreement. I.e pets, children, overnight guests. Whatever is stipulated really.
Regarding contracts, then these must be honoured providing there are no breaches.
As a general rule of thumb (although it is a legal mindfield) after contract the landlord has to give notice which is equilvent to the rent frequency.
That is you pay one month at a time, they have to give one months notice etc.
You can always squat, after your time is up. Unless the owners want to live in their themselves, you will have to be evicted via a court order. And this will be charged to the landlord NOT you. Further, it is not a criminal offence.

Ok thanks people.
From what i gather, she has been paying to have an extension fitted which the brother is doing, but he is not happy about things as she has not been there to help him out, so has turned up to evict her and her 3 young daughters.
Hoped I was right in away as it would of meant something she could do!
