Temporary disability - freezing gym membership fee

My gym has just told me they are going to charge me �12 per month to freeze my membership as I've just torn a cartilage in my knee and cannot exercise until I've recovered from surgery . Is it it legal for them to do this under Disability legislation, as I am, in fact, temporarily "disabled"?

You are injured, not registered disabled.

If it is in their terms and conditions that you had and read when you joined, yes they can.

so just dont exercise that leg! you still have all the other benefits the gym provides i would have thought

also, the dda wouldnt apply to a temporary injury. I think they are being most reasonable by lowering it temporarily!

they are doing you a favour lowing your contracted payment plan with them - legally you would be stuck with the full amount whether you used it or not.

as mentioned disability legislation does not apply here
