cant any one help I'm trying to get my dads birth certificate to see the names of his parents as i am trying to do a tree he was born in Scotland in Glasgow but came over here after the war to look for his brother because there was a family fall out anyway he met my mum and never went back but he never really spoke about his parents only that his mum died when he was very young and his dad remarried I think that's what the fall out was about but he never said what there names was id like to find out I joined Scotlandspeople but don't seem to get past 1901 and his date of birth is 1921 any ideas Thanks

you can get this information from your local Registrar, it might cost about �5 tho, give them a ring. They can look it up by his name, year of birth and place of birth i think.

Scotland�s People gives all births up to 1906, so I can�t understand why you can�t get past 1901.

Are you sure he was born in Glasgow? If so, you could ask for help on this forum:

They are usually very helpful � if you ask really nicely, I�m sure someone will do a look up for you.

You�d need to post your dad�s full name and birthdate.
