what information goes on a marriage certificate? I would like to know all the fields that would have to be completed for a valid marriage certificate.

Date of marriage
Full names of bride and groom
their respective ages
Condition ie spinster/batchelor etc
Profession
Address at time of marriage
Respective fathers full names
Ditto professions

this is then dated and signed including the names of two witnesses.

yes, this does help,although i would like to ask : in the 'condition' field, what would somebody who was previously married but then divorced put?

i dont think you need all of those for it to be valid
my husband did not put his father's full name on, and i hope it's still valid
