First Time Buyer

I am thinking about buying my own house or flat. I will be buying by myself. I don't have a clue how buying property works (in Scotland). I have been advised to get a credit card to get myself a credit rating. I don't have a deposit to put down on a house/flat � I probably won't get any help from my parents (long story - they don't want me to move out) I spoke to a financial advisor and he is going to look into which lenders would be willing to offer my a mortgage. Can someone please tell me what I have to do to buy a house � I don't know where I can go to get this sort of advice. Also what costs will be included in the process of buying a house. Any information would be great, thanks.
