im writing a book.ive taken a photocopy of original i wrote on paper and copy of letter sent to the publisher.do i need to copyright it yest etc??

No, in the UK there is no system of copyright registration (Unlike the USA). The only problem arises where two or more 'owners' dispute who has the copyright, although this actually happens very rarely. Copyright exists the moment you write something (Certain to conditions, authorship, originality etc.) so you already hold copyright over your work.

thanks for that reply.ive photcopied 3 pages of the story the whole shortstory so i think its all safe.i light be the next jk rowling
One trick is to send a copy of the original to yourself by registered post and keep it sealed in case of any problems with breach of copyright.
