As this is a UK site I assume you are in the UK.

Yes, you can live with whoever you please and nobody can force you to return to the parental home.

What do you mean by emancipation? Women have had the vote for some years, but you can't vote until you are 18. :)
Maybe she wants freedom from her parents?

That's about the only thing I can think of, after all she is niether a suffragette or slave

Why would you want to leave home at 16? It's a harsh wolrd out there
Stay at home, unless your parent(s) are abusive. Mark my words, this will end in tears, I just hope you're better at using contraception than you are at grammar, spelling and punctuation. You are not an adult (far from it) there is no substitute for experience borne from age. In five, ten years time you'll want to slap the silly girl that you are now.
The world's full of men, concentrate on education, be the best you can be for yourself, make the most of yourself, learn to know yourself and then settle down.
Yes you can legally move out if you choose to do so if in the UK. I'm not sure what you mean by emancipation though. Do what you need to do for you, and excuse any rudeness or patronising replies.
Legal emancipation of a minor is a common(?) practice within the US which leads me to suspect all legal advice should be based in US law.
A girl of 16 belongs at home with her mother, if she has a care, if you think that relationship has a future then I will have seen you on the Jeremy Kyle show!
It's got disaster written all over it, she's a girl unable, unwilling and too afraid to stand on her own two feet so she's hoping to stand on someone elses who will (almost certainly) wipe his feet (and other parts of his anatomy) all over her.
