Today we received a speeding fine 36 in a 30 mph limit we have no trouble in holding our hands up but dont know if it was myself or my husband driving, we daily take the route to pick up our son, they say they have photographic evidence will this suffice?Julie
With respect, it says on the form to summit false information is an offence NO way are we avoiding it and both have clean licences so maybe you know too many naughty people johnny37 Julie
If I were you I would contact them and explain exactly what you have said here and ask for a copy of the photo so you can identify the driver. This must be common practise for fleet managers.
Thanks meglet that is what weve done you have reassured me! the problem is that you have to state it was you! I think it was me, my husband thinks it was him, my 11yr son thinks it was his father! see the prob you can be charged up to a 1,000 if you give the wrong information its all the same kitty Julie
Its been a while since I got a NIP luckily, is there not a number on it you can call for advice about your problem? If not whoever the registered owner is could write and explain the situation, making it clear you are not trying to avoid the fine and points.
This happened to me a few years ago - I contacted the police and asked them if they could see who it was in the photo - and even mentioned that it should be easy to tell as I am of Asian origin and over 6foot tall where as my wife is white and 5 foot 5".
The police said that they could not tell from the picture and suggested (off the record) that we should toss for it
Sorry Julie, didnt mean to sound rude. However, with respect, there are too many people saying they dont know who was driving. What i think you are trying to say is what will happen if you say you dont know? In my view the law should be changed so that the registered driver is liable. in these circumstances.
