Just wanted to know that if someone is getting Working tax credit and child tax credit, are they entitled to council tax benefit. Someone said that only the people on job seekers allowances are entitled. So is it better to give up job then.
I cen bet that amsterdammer is one of them. As far as I am concerned I am paying around 13K only as tax towards this country every year. I am enquiring this for someone else. Having said that I do believe that in the UK law favours the people who do cheating, families has broken apart, divorce and so much because for certain reasons people are financially better off. But my question was very simple and I don't think people like AMSTERDAMMER should come to this site, perhaps they should go to any other chat site and try to fulfil their habits.

Am retired ,excellent pension, & never drawn a penny in Benefits all my life, working or retired.
If as stated you are paying 250 a week in taxes, I suggest you change your accountant, & can also afford to seek proffessional advice, rather than putting yourself at the mercy of unknown amateurs, who frequent this site.
Amsterdammer. Just for your information I am a qualified accountant myself, so obviously I do not need an accountant. I can agree with you on one thing and that is about amateurs. I am sure there are many over here. As far as getting an advice, then trust me some time an amateur gives you advice which professional would not have a clue about. Because professionals have to follow the guidelines and they would not take a risk. And if that never happened to you then may be you retired a bit too early.
