how and why are the judiciary involved in the law making process? can any one please help

They set precedents that have pursuasive value for courts of similar jurisdiction, and that have to be followed by lower courts. this is an example of how common law evolves. statutory law is made by acts of psrliament, which all courts have to follow, and their interpretation of these laws is part of the precedent making (common law) process.
