can i use a cbt certifacate on a driving ban

i have been told by a police officer that although im on a driving ban i can still ride a motor cycle on a cbt certificate he said that becouse i only have a provishional licence that im ok to use a motorbike. he says that the law is im disqualified from using a full licence not from learning and as a cbt means you ride a motor cycle up to a 125cc on a provisional im only learning. is this true can i use a cbt on a ban

A disqualification means you cannot drive any motor vehicle on any road or other public place.

Can I ride a moped/motorbike when banned?
No. If you are disqualified from driving, you are banned from using any motorised vehicle for which you previously held a licence.

I was banned for speeding on my motorbike. Can I still drive my car?
No. A ban covers all categories of vehicle.

dont listen to these numptys
i rode a 125 whilst disqualified from obtaining a full license for 3 full years (including taking my cbt's)
i was pulled by police almost daily (due to the area i lived in at the time being terrible for moped crime)
multiple police had to ring the dvla to confirm that i was in fact allowed to ride with a cbt as i was classed as learning and not obtaining a full license.

the cbt instructors had to call the dvla to confirm when i attended to do the cbt, i got insurance with no issues.

do your homework by calling the dvla and confirming this as i did before doing it.
no rule about applying for a provisional whilst on a ban and no law about learning to ride on a 125 with valid cbt with said provisional whilst on a ban...
