The amendment to the Criminal Justice Act (Offensive Weapons) Order 1988 is expected to be put in place during April and will ban the import, sale and hire of replica Samurai swords. There will be exemptions for collectors of genuine Japanese swords and swords used by martial arts enthusiasts.
