My electrical window recently broke and everytime I try and move the window down it makes a funny noise (Crunching).
Has anyone experienced this before and if so, is it easy to fix? Any tips or advice will be well received.
Thanks

Half open the window and grip the top. Give it a good shake in order to realign it with the mechanism.

If not, have you got oil nipples around the door seal. If so, spray some 3 in 1 in there to free the mechanism up.
Its probably the gearing on the window motor mechanism. Most cars replace the complete window mechanism, with the motor as one part, but a few sell the mechanism, seperately to the motor. Without taking yours apart, its not possible to say which bits you will need, but my advice would be to buy the whole lot together anyway.
They can be tricky to fit, but if you get one from a scrap yard, who let you take the part off yourself, then you will have a good idea what is involved without damaging your own car. The part will also be substantially cheaper than buying from Saab.
