Driving without due care & Attention
A few months ago i left my house in my car and crossed some traffic lights. The traffic then backed up and there was a long queue. I pulled out to the right to see down the line to see if there was somwhere i could turn around. I had checked my mirror prior to this and there was nothing coming from behind. On moving out a motorbike collided with me. The driver was ok, he suffered minor cuts to his hands but stood up immediately, when i asked he said he was ok. Admittedly i know i was in the wrong here, though i am sure the bike was travelling to fast for a 30mph zone. I am due to attend court very soon as i have just recieved a summons for driving without due care. Assuming that i plead guilty what do you expect the punishment to be? Fine and points?? Ban?

The incapability to accept other peoples views wont get you far in life. Most of us see would see that as stubborn, childish and moronic. All i will say is that some people (thankyou Chris!) give good helpfull advice. You are unfortunately unable to act in a dignified manner and try to help others, which i think you will find is the aim of this site. Not to be aggressive and to cause arguements. I am amused that when somebody stands upto you, you dont like it at all. Maybe you should learn to give and take, you'll be much more peacefull within yourself. Big love x

Here's a few Ramjet gems that explain my point. I think you would be truly thick to disagree now Ramjet. Have some guts and admit that you dont know how to communicate in a dignified adult manner.
Clever comment from Ramjet. The first one is a beauty!! Do you like motorcyclist or not? Right to do as they please now is it?
1.
"Nothing's your fault is it? It wasn't your fault that your L plate 'fell of'. It wasn't your fault that the sergeant discovered you didn't have a licence.
No doubt when you knock someone down and kill them, it won't be your fault. They should have been looking out for a speeding semi-literate motorcyclist that thinks they have a god given right to do as they please.
FFS grow up."
2.
"Get a surveyor to look at your house. Christ, was that such a difficult answer?????"
3.
"pay up and shut up"
You have such a way with words Ramjet. Have a nice evening x

well I would like to add my opinion now I will probably get told off by 'Ramjet' too! Hudskov I have no idea to the answer of your question about what will happen but I do agree with you. 'Most' motorcylists in my experience ride too fast especially when there is a queue and think they have the god given right to burn past everyone to the front. I am sure you did look in your mirror first but in the few seconds it then took you to set off if the bike was coming past the cars he obviously didn't notice you pulling out so he should take the blame too. I am not saying he was going too fast but alot of bikers do, if he had have been going really fast he would have been alot more hurt or dead.
Lost the arguement? Ah, well that just shows what youre here for doesnt it Ramjet. I did explain that the idea is to help people with advice and not win an arguement. Thats rather sad dont you think? Maybe this site is not doing you a lot of good. That fact that you were on here at 10.07 last night tells the story doesnt it? You need to give it up and get some substance to your life my friend. You were the one asking if i slept well at night. I think we know who has the problem sleeping here. If this is all you have to worry about then i'm sorry i've wound you up, i'm starting to feel rather sorry for you.
tigwig what planet are you from... 'Most' motorcylists in my experience ride too fast ...1 dead 1 badly injured, animals in the last 12 months include at least 10 cats 1 fox, oops forget i child knocked down 12 yards from my front door.. how many bikes were involved ??? NONE..zilch all the work of car drivers and the person who died was hit by a wagon. strange that if bikes go to fast why are most accidents down to car drivers ?????
Hudskov.
My first piece of advice is to ignore what is going on here.
We are ALL human and to errrr is HUMAN !
To me it sounds like an accident in addition to errrring as a human being.
I am glad as much as what you probably are that this person wasnt very badly hurt.
I am a motorcyclist (little red moped actually) and there are some lunatic drivers out there who have cut me up on roundabouts, hooted and overtaken me as I have been trying to get home in gale force winds and snow, petrifying me just because I have been in their way. You have never done any of this.
I think that you will probably get 5 - 7 points and a standard fine with costs. Perhaps even a minimal compensation order to the motorcyclist.
You may get offered a driver awareness course (if they do them) and I have heard that they are really good and knowledgeable.
I can tell how sorry you are and for the man too. Unfortunately there are some people on here who upset us with snidey remarks from time to time. I was doubled over laughing at Renjects remarks, hilarious because they were so ABSURD ! Warped even.
Take Care. I wish you and the motorcyclist well.
