how do I sue the nhs
Hi can anyone tell me how I would go about sueing the nhs for negligence, I am enquiring for my mum who has just lost her partner. One of the points is the staff placed an iv in his muscle instead of a vein which resulted in his arm becoming extremely swollen and painful, the second is the drain going into his liver came out and they didn't put it back in therefore all the muck didn' t come out it just went straight back inside him. He died shortly after this.

Thsiu sentimental view of the medical profession has got to stop. Doctors at all levels are very highly paid professionals. They don't enter the medical profession out of a sense of altruism. Of course they make mistakes, like everyone else. But everyone else's mistakes don't result in death or impaired lives. I have many friends who are doctors - they became doctors because they are good at science disciplines and medicine is an obvious career for them. To put it bluntly, they can't do much else! It makes me rather angry that if I were to make mistakes of the gravity that doctors (can) make, I would be fired. Doctors aren't saintly benefactors - they enjoy their work and they are highly paid for doing it. Of course doctors are "busy" - so is everyone else. OK - they treat people and they save lives. That is their job. If doctors can't deal with pressure, they might consider doing something else, like less highly paid teaching or research.

Initial advice on these types of claims is available in many places, a quick search on Google showed up www.sue-the-nhs.co.uk, which appears to be a company dedicated to dealing with medical negligence cases. They have a freephone number (08006127445) and appear to offer free of charge consultations. Probably better to phone a company like that then just any accident management company that you see on TV, as they will specialise in NHS cases. Good luck!
here is the real question! is it governments fault the hospitals are under budget causing management to under employ causing lack of adequate staff and poor treatment. Or is it the doctors fault for ignorance and/or lack of knowledge or even the hospital managers fault for allowing the doctors to work inefficiently. remember you are suing for justice and in this case the only possible justified solution isn't compensation in the form of money but is for this to never happen to anyone again therefore increasing hospital staff and a face to face verbal apology of admittance from the person/persons at fault followed up in writing. I truly hope you got the justice you undoubtedly deserve
