How many TV Licences does one gaol require??
I work in a gaol with a prisoner population of over 800. They are housed in eight seperate accomodation blocks. Each of these prisoners have access to a television in the cell. There are many other places within the gaol that will have televisions. Possibly up to 1000 televisions.

The Word gaol kind of makes me think Irish / Scottish system.
A hospital if i take this into into the equasion.
Can charge Patents for what is called Free View. Dam noncence is my view point on this.
Being In hospital is not Choice by most..Mind you in Jail is also not most persons Choice . But One Licence seems to cover this situation..
I have also read that a TV licence covers up to 10 TV,S in a household ..MMM Hospitals and Prisons Dont fall into that catogory.
Jail in my view should only be able to see the Repeat noncence i pay for from SKY....If i miss it tonight I can watch it another night as it is there all the time.
Hospital patients also are not there by choice....And should only have to pay a small amount to Hire a tv.

Wow you get to watch TV in prison.
Next you will be telling me it's free and they also have video games consoles and SKY TV.
This of course cant be true. Otherwise how can it be classed as punishment ?
Yes ... I was in Hospital a couple of years ago and had to pay I think it was 2 per day to watch TV.
The phone call rate was 25p per minute , calling out and 40p per min for incoming calls.

Can relate to the question in a way, as used to live in a nurse's home in which each block had 66 rooms, and supposedly 66 residents. As each room was regarded as a separate "address" then we each had to have our own Television Licence by law. A lot of people who were nurses, and thus on a low income, thought that the licencing authorities would "go easy on them" if they were caught. THEY WERE WRONG! Quite a few got done for licence evasion at one time, but think it would be different for prisoners as each prison cell is not a different address, but the prison itself would be one. Don't quote me on this, but think you should seek legal advice.
