Paying for faulty repair on car.

Last week I had my water pump repaired on my car. I topped up on my windscreen water on Sunday to find I had antifreeze sprayed all around the inside of my bonnet.

I've took it into the garage and they were positive it was there before they fitted the water pump, until they seen that the new water pump they put on was faulty and was leaking. I've arranged for a new pump (hopefully not faulty) to be fitted tomorrow.

By law do I have to pay for the new fitting and labour tomorrow as I don't think I should, seeing as I wouldn't be having the fitting if they just put on a working water pump.

Any legal help would be appreciated.

I think the time to mention this was when you were arranging for the new pump to be fitted.

we would fit it free of charge and i would think they will as well,so dont panic and start getting stroppy,sometimes parts are faulty and this happens,i know its a pain,but thats life,if they do try and charge you refuse and say you will contact trading standards,but i expect they will just do it and apologize for the trouble,like most people do.
