Driving Licence Revoked - Appeal
11 Answers
The DVLA have written to me stating my licence has been revoked because they say they asked for my licence a month ago, following a 3 point endorsement and a fine. The only problem is, I did not receive their first letter, or I would have returned my licence. They say I can appeal and I have 12 months to continue driving. How likely am I to succeed in this appeal?

I got flashed for speeding, admitted it but unbeknown to me I sent the paper part of my license to be endorsed but it wasn't the most up to date copy.
I think what they mean is that just your license is revoked, I just sent off the form for the post office for a replacement license and 23 quid and that was it

Thanks lizzybeth, still don't know what to do, I really need to speak to someone who's appealed and find out if they got their licence reinstated that way, it's not fair they can assume they sent a letter and you got it, I'm quite law abiding, this is my first ever offence (I'm 48 - quite a good record!) I don't care to have my licence taken away for something that's not my fault, I would have sent it when they first asked ...!! And don't even bother trying to ring them, it's either engaged or doesn't answer, so no help there.
my sons licence was revoked for ignoring such a letter from the DVLA. The police stopped him 6months later; told him his licence was revoked and impounded his vehicle (I had to pick him & his tools up). He paid 250 to retrieve his vehicle (4miles away) from the impound place. He was insured but because DVLA revoked licence, the insurance was invalid!
At Court for offence of 'not producing' he was fined a further 800 & 3 points.
A big fine & expense for ignoring mail or pleading 'non-receival of mail).
You should claim you've lost your docs and apply for replacement quick.....before you suffer same fate.
