i was accused of taxi touting after agreeing to take a guy to tower hill. i did not approach him in anyway i was sitting in my car in the rain reading a newspaper when he approached me i was stopped by the police when driving him home and arrested for touting. what do i do as i did not tout him to get into my car at all
doesnt matter if you encouraged him or not, you were caught using your vehicle for hire or reward without the appropriate licence and insurance to do so. why would you drop off a complete stranger nowadays if youre not a taxi??!!!
yes but in Baghda ..we are a just give a verbal caution , for thid type , of offence,,, we remain cordial with police in Baghdad ,,,and offer to take , police officers of bagdad , out to dinner ......
with all due respect law drop out Baghdad is a bit different at the moment than the UK!!Theres probably a lot of things you could do there that you couldnt do here!!
Bagdahd ..is a random example ..how about Delhi , Moscow , buenos aries ,,,,,,, " I touted for a 15 fee, ..it was raining thunder -man approACHED ME ! "
Did he pay you? If so, you're a taxi. If not, you're not. I have occasionally given rides to total strangers who've been caught in the rain but I've never taken money from them.
jno , is right ...... "raantheman" in future in this situation, why not "say to any person you give a lift to ,,,,,,,the money they give you - "you will pledge the fulla mount to charity " ,,,,, (in this case the 15 - to "tower hill " .....
So when my mum says to me "can you give me a lift into town and I'll give you a fiver for petrol", this means I am illegally hiring my vehicle for financial reward????
