A friend of a friend was visting from Prague. He borrowed my car. He assured me he had insurance. I have had a speeding notice through from when he had the car. I have returned his information to the police and now they have asked me for insurance details. I am not covered on my insurance and I cannot get hold of the "friend" who was driving to obtain his insurance details. Will I be in trouble and recieve points?

6-8 points and a fine.

It would probably have been better to admit to the speeding
tut tut ethel - are you saying you dont beleive him/her ?
Certainly not
I would just take the points and put it down to experience cause if the Police find out someone else was driving and they are not insured then you'll get a bigger fine and more points....
Take a trip to Prague and send yourself a postcard supposedly from your "friend" so that you can back up your story and help your case.

This was done by a couple last year, and surprise the police still did not believe the and they ended up being prosecuted for their action. Got a VERY large fine or maybe Prison cannot remember
Anna, the story you refer to is here!

Unbelieveable, the lengths some people will go to (suggesting no doubt on the author of this thread!)
