Hotmail problem

My neighbour is unable to open messages in her hotmail inbox on her computer, but is able to do so when using a computer at the library. Anyone know what might be ailing her computer and if so, how to put it right, please? She can use the internet in other ways, though, ie visit various websites etc etc. We have deleted cookies and temporary internet pages. Many thanks.
