renting out my house
4 Answers
I am desperately trying to get my house rented. It is an amazing building, all done up with new kitchen, bathroom and carpets etc. It used to be a bank so it still has loads of original features including a 34' vault/cellar!
I have tried going with 2 estate agents to no avail. I am now panicking as I need to move away in less than 2 weeks (to do a course for a year) but am worried that my house simply won't get taken up! And as a student I cannot pay the mortgage and rent my own room, with no income! Has this happened to you- I thought the rental market was supposed to be booming!!! Help!

I'm presently in the business of purchasing a house to let (attempting to get some capital presently in the bank to work for me). However, whilst it is a buyer's market with house prices having dropped and not selling easily, it is also a tennant's market as there are many more properties now being rented out. Your house may be fantastic for you but may not be what renters want or may be too expensive for them to consider.
Good luck.

In what area is this I have just put a house up to rent with a company rent-smart.co.uk only been on a few days had lots of interest they are also advertising on rightmove for me. make sure your rental company have done market comparables in your area so to make sure it is not overpriced.... I would also ring them as a potential renter looking see how well they are working for you.
