My brother works away a lot and doesn't have a place of his own. Some of his important mail like bankstuff etc comes here and I keep it for him, but he does not live with us, He also has his car registerd as c/o my address which is fine, but iv'e had baillifs at the door over unpaid tickets. Brother just laughs and tells me to chase rhem as it's got nothing to do with me. I stupidly let them in and they started making lists of our stuff. My husband was furious and we cant get a hold of my brother at the moment. Can they take our stuff even though the debt is not ours. Im out of my mind with worry.

They can only take goods belonging to your brother, not you.

Stop letting him use your address.

That goes without saying. If a judgement is made on him C/o my address will it have an adverse effect on my credit rating?
Definitely so.

You would have to record a notice on the credit files to the effect that his financial affairs are nothing to do with you. Costs around 15 I think.
