Charity Law
Hi A close friends son ( age 10) has just been diagnosed with cancer. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Things are tough financially for them and a group of us want to raise some money to send them on a great holiday after he finishes the treatment. We have the permission of the school where our children go to use the facilities free of charge and want to raise about 5000 in total. Does anyone know the legalities surrounding raising this amount of money? Do I need to register it as a charity, and if so how is the best way of doing this? Thanks in advance J x

You need to be looking at a 'non-charitable trust fund' where the monies raised can be properly administered and accounted for.
