"Between the ages of 16 and 19, if the child is enrolled full-time in school (more than 12 hours per week and the course is up to and including A level), child maintenance for the child must be paid. This does not apply to advanced study, like study at a college or university, this only includes non-advanced study"
Child benefit can be paid until the child's 20th birthday
ou will receive Child Benefit for them until 31 August after their 16th birthday, and after that date payments only continue if one of the following applies:
* they are under 20 and in relevant education or training

hi well i have just spoke to a solicitor this morning and when a child is 18 they can have there maintenance paid directly to them especially if the parent is not giving them any plus the child does not stay at home much, just thought i would let u all no that it is law that the child can recieve its own maintenance as classed as an adult and therefore responsible for there own money.
