Line manager is a toss pot.
I'm around 5 weeks pregnant and when I told my line manager (I had to so early, because of the nature of my job) he actually asked me if I was going to keep it, then he tried to suggest that I leave, as SMP wasn't very good. Do you think he was out of order, as I do?

You need to seek advice perhaps from the CAB on where you stand with your employer making comments such as this, you need to be readily prepared that he may try to make your life uncomfortable thus forcing you out ( this is not legal and you have rights!)

I'm not too worried as I've been there for 3 years and know my rights and entitlements and plan to get every penny I can out of them if and when I go on leave.
I think his comments were said more out of him being moronic than any malice. However, I will mention it to the HR manager at some point and keep a record of anything else he says.
