what are my rights?

i was fired from my job of 8 months because i was ill i received no written warning and no verbal warning can anyone let me know if there is anything i can do

No, because you have been there less than 12 months continuously. Sorry.
You should have been paid your notice period though, once you were informed of the worst.
As BM said, you can only make a claim for unfair or wrongful dismissal after one year's service so the only recourse you could have would be if it was (and could be proven to be) discriminatory (eg racial or sexual) or for a breach of contract eg not paying notice pay, holiday pay etc...

It depends what your contract said.

thanx jenna 1978 and bm i contacted acas and they just said the same because i was under a years employment there was nothing they could do but thank you for your reply very much appreciated
