New Business pyramid tips

Hi all.

I am starting a business selling completly natural health products. I buy the products from the company and sell them at a 30% profit. There is also emphasis on getting other people to start selling the products and if they sign underneath me then I get commision on everything they sell. Also if the person I sign up signs other people up then I get commision on that also.

So it is basicly a pyramid with me at the top.

So I was wondering if people may be able to share any information no matter what on running/setting up of a business. No matter how obvious it may be or small I would appreciate all the help I can get.

Before long there will be a million members, you'll have millions of pounds amonth flooding in ....
or it will be yet another scheme where people like you lose out because you can't sell your goods.
For these schems to work everyone needs to sign a few peple up and they in turn need to sign several up, and in theory within a few weeks the whole population of the world will be members. But of course these schemes all flop well before then.
Try doing a search on' women empowering women'.
And remember you're not at the top of the pyramid- initially you are at the bottom and that's where most people stay.

Unless you've got millions of pounds to provide stocks of your products to everyone involved in your scheme, the only way it can work is if participants buy their stocks from you (or other participants) and then sell them on to others. i.e. participants will have to pay some money 'up front'.

That has an important legal significance because it's illegal to take payments from others to join a scheme if the principal 'selling point' of the scheme is that they'll make money from recruiting others (rather than by actually selling the products). Running a 'pyramid scheme' where people are told that the main way they'll make money is by recruiting others (and where the participants have to pay something to join the scheme) is a serious criminal offence, which can lead to a lengthy prison sentence.

In my humble opinion, a pyramid scheme is usually when there is no exchange of goods or services (e.g. Nat. Ins). However, I would suggest that if you set up your business properly (and I do believe that it is a legitimate business) you can do very well. However, if you describe it the way that you have done above, you probably will repel people rather than attract them.
