My partner was caught driving my car without my permission & he wasn't insured to drive it.He has been summoned to attend magistrates, does anyone know the likely outcome as it would affect his job massively.
He already has points for speeding

how many points does he already have? how long ago did he pass his test?
Dont forget whatever his punishment for dwi, he will probbaly also be charged with taking your car, so will have a dishonesty conviction too, making it difficult for him job-wise and insurance -wise in the future
Fine up to 5000, 6-8 penalty points and discretionary disqualification from driving. If there are aggravating features the Court may also impose a community penalty, such as a community rehabilitation order or curfew order.

he has points which were due to expire, he passed his years test approx 27 years ago
lets hope you and him both get put away in prison for a long time as by reading your other post you both need locking up,you are both a menace to society.
how many points? if he already has six for example (regardless of when they are due to expire; its the date of the offence that counts, not when it comes to court) then he will lose his licence under the "totting up" procedure
I cant resist getting in on these threads. Why worry after he has done the wrong it's a pity he hadnt smashed it for you then you would have had something to moan about. Hope they throw the book at him.
there is a chance he could be done for taking witout concent and no insurance possable 6 points and a fine, this will affect further insurance quotes for him.Dont you say he had your permission as you could be done for aiding and abeting in the offence. He cant be done for theft of the car as the term theft ,is to permantly deprive the owner of the car,he did not intend this so he cant be done for theft.but takeing without owners concent is an offence in its self.We all have to pay insurance as you do,sory i have no sympathy for him, what if he had an accident you and others would have a job getting paid out on insurance, was he bothered about what would happen to you if he had an accident and badly damaged your car.you would be without a car and have to pay a lot of money out.
just noticed he passed his test 27 years ago.he should have known better, you cant tell me he didnt know he was breaking the law.I he knew he was breaking the law,he deserves all he gets.
You say he needs his licence for work , if he has fully comp on his own car he should be covered 3rd party fire and theft if you gave him permission .
Ethel has given the maximum penalties available.

The likely outcome is a fine of one and a half week's net income (reduced by a third for a guilty plea) and six penalty points. Also, a Victim Surcharge of 15 and prosecution costs of around 60 will be payable.

Although curfew orders and rehabilitation orders are available they are rarely used in straightforward cases.

If the six point take the driver to twelve or more, expect a "totting up"ban of 6 months, unless "exceptional hardship" can be sucessfully argued.
