I think I was given a police causion when I was about 19 or 20. Is there any way I can check? How long do they remain on your record?

Also would it be a problem for me to travel abroad to anywhere?
Could you check with your local police station as they should have the records.

I'd ring in advance and go personally and take some ID so they know you're not trying to find out info on anyone else.

The main place I can think of is the US but depends what it is you were cautioned for.

There are loads of discussions in the Travel section, and some in here, about getting into the US.
Kellogs .... A caution is not a conviction in the UK and does not have to be mentioned in a job application. It WILL be on record for (usually) 10 years but will not stop you travelling abroad.

However, you would have to declare it for an enhanced disclosure check when working with kids.
causion?????? is that a mixture of being in a police cordon while liquids been poured on you from a cauldron?=causion!( yes im drunk!)
