can you hear sleigh bells?
20 Answers
Here's the plan ...
I've got some jingley bells, that sound like sleigh bells.
Some of my friends will put their children to bed tonight, and leave their windows a bit open, and then ...
I will sneak round into their gardens with my jingley bells and make sleigh bell noises. The children will see that it's not their parents doing it, because their parents will be in the room, tucking them into bed, and pretending that they can't hear anything because grown ups can't hear Santa's sleigh bells.
Well, that's the plan. 3 sets of friends to get round, before their kids are too fast asleep.
And for the scores of children who apparently log on to this site (!), the real Santa will be along later, I promise (if you've been good).
In the meantime, I've got to go up to smelly London to take a load of my "best" contacts out for lunch ... cue a big lunch-sized hole in Jayne's bank balance.
Anyway, enjoy the rest of the day everyone.

pieman, I'm not planning on stanting in the middle of the lawn waving my arms.
Friends tuck their kids into bed, go up to check on them, open the window "for a bit of air" ...
jingle, jingle
Kids hear bells, parents deny all knowledge ...
... then auntie Jayne arrives (by coincidence) for a quick drink with parents.
I've never had children of my own, so it's my little contribution to Christmas Eve. Bit pathetic really, but it should go down okay.
Barmaid ... that's so funny. I'm sitting here chuckling to myself.
