Judges in lower courts have to follow the precedents set by judges in higher court.

But really this an in depth subject hat needs you to read the set text and research cases.

Don't be cheeky. Ethel did not make any spelling mistakes, she missed out (is) after the word this, and the initial (t) from the word that. Which would have been because she was in a hurry to answer your question. Ethel is a very busy lady, and in great demand. Deri. I'm not big brother, more like a big sister, who was concerned that if you are studying, particularly in law, you would need to be a bit more careful with your checking of written work.
