If anyone had a really difficult family problem and a father took a child without consent of the mother abroad, are there any countries where the extradition laws wouldn't apply?

Many Muslim countries have their own laws which override the extradition laws where this is concerned.I have a friend whose ex-husband took their daughter to see his family in Egypt and then refused to return her,she spent several months going down the legal route to get her child back and failed. She then had to resort to 'kidnapping' her own daughter from Egypt :(

Oh crikey, that sounds awful, daffy654. It was just such an article I was reading that prompted my question. I didn't realise that it was the fact that many of these children are taken to Muslim countries which made it so difficult. I just couldn't understand why more wasn't done to help these women whose children have been taken without their consent.
