I have a CCTV cameras on my roof line about 15 ft up as attempts have been made to damage and steal my motorbike. It is parked in a public street. Do I have to put up a sign stating that CCTV is in operation. The cameras x2 are both silver colour and slightly larger than coke cans so they are clearly visable without a sign. It records onto a hard drive.

There is no legal requirement to post one, but personally I would anyway, it may persuade the scum that has done the damage to think twice. You are letting them know that they are being watched, and sometimes that is enough to deter them.
I think its a nice option to put up a sign their, so that they may be alert that someone is looking at them. CCTV is really a good system to prevent from theft.
