Last year a friend was assaulted in her own home by an ex boyfriend that had climbed through her kitchen window. He chased her upstairs, grabbed her and smashed her head and face repeatedly into a wall.He was arrested and the case went to court where he was found guilty. The court awarded my friend compensation. The compensation has just come through and the court costs of 600 has been taken from this. This seems to me to be unfair. The question is...Is this how it works?Any help and enlightenment would be very much appreciated.Thank you.

This seems a bit odd. You need to contact your Solicitor who represented you and discuss why this has happened.
your friend shouldnt be paying court costs, she was the victim!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
