How longer can the worst Home Secretary in living memory cling on to the third most important job in Government?

I do not have a problem with MPs claiming second home expenses - this makes sense - however, I do have a problem when the person in charge of law and order makes a mockery of the second home allowance by absurdly claiming her sisters back bedroom is her main residence.

It is so breathtakingly obvious that it is not her main residence that it is little more than theft of our money.

.....and claiming for sex films her husband has watched.

I think the Labour party are hoping the G20 conference will take all the publicity and after it has finished her thieving will be forgotten.

I dont think they realise how annoyed the public are with her continual criminal activities.

Hopefully if we keep up the barrage of negative publicity she will be forced to resign.
Nothing will happen as its only the tip of the iceberg.

cameron is very quiet, nothing to do with his expenses being high

They are all as bad as each other
I too have nothing but contempt for her and the other 600 odd "dishonourable members" regarding their grasping greed from British taxpayers.

However, what's the evidence to support your allegation of her being "the worst Home Secretary in living memory" ? I'm interested in a few examples, please.
I guarantee you there isn't one of them that feels an iota of shame or regret about any of the money they help themselves to.
The reason is because they're all doing it, and they view it as legitimate perks of the job. It's technically within the rules so there's nothing to be embarrased about. Of course viewed from outside the Westminster bubble by us plebs it all looks pretty shameful, but no-one in parliament (from any party) is looking at Ms smith and thinking 'thieving cow', they're all sympathetic and concerned about how it might affect their own little setup, now that questions are being asked.
She is indeed the most incompetent and dishonourable Home Secretary EVER.

I think that the Masturgate scandal will probably be the end of her. My mate reckons that if he was married to her and she (allegedly) spent all that time at her sister's back room .... he'd watch "thrash" movies too :-)

PS all this expenses stuff has taken the focus off her other incompetent acts. How many were aware, for example, that the Courts recently found against her for wrongfully interfering in Government Actuaries duties which affected the value of certain pensions in the public sector ?
I think she is well suited to her position in this government. They are all a load of lying freeloaders
She has a very low majority in her constituency and is probably milking the sytem for all its worth before she loses her seat at the next election. She seems to believe the word, 'honourable' is merely her title and doesn't have to reflect on her personal behaviour. She is wrong!
Kenneth Baker?

Author of the Dangerous dogs act.

Left Government rather than be demoted to secretary of State for Wales.

One Journalist said "I have seen the future and it smirks!"

And While you're being so self righteous let's not forget that the current chairman of the Tory Party feels the need to claim for a second home because he lives 37 miles from Westminster!

C'mon Jake, nobody is excusing the abuses by a number of MPs, but surely you must agree that Jacqui Smith trying to tell us that her sister's back bedroom is her main residence is really taking the michael out of us.
Good luck getting Jake say anything remotely critical about anyone connected with the Labour party flip_flop. Jacqui Smith could wander up to a random member of the public and stab them to death and it would somehow be Margaret Thatcher's fault.

I was giving him the benefit of the doubt that surely even he could see that Smith is taking the rise out of us.

Many politicians, on all sides, abuse their positions and claim for every penny available simply because it is 'in the rules', never mind whether, in cases like Smith, it is tantamount to larceny.

Alas, gone are the days when politicians entered politics for the 'right' reasons and acted with honour and probity, and any whiff of impropriety led to an immediate resignation in the House.

Still, it'd be nice to hear Jake admit that Jacqui Smith is wrong.
Floating voters think about the politics. People like Jake are incapable of thinking. Just follow their leader, like sheep.
