Ancestor comitted suicide

I have obtained a death certificate for my Mum's Mum's Mum's Mum's Dad's Dad, that is my Great Great Great Great Grandad Richard Willey, died 1847 aged 72, he hung himself at the Packet Inn, Horncastle Road, Boston. I have looked thru Google and think I have found the pub, but not 100%. Does anyone have any idea if this pub is still there? I have the newspaper report from the coroners inquest which states he was staying there overnight as he was an assistant letter carrier (i.e postman i guess) can anyone identify the right pub please?

oh and I am not being goulish i just would like to identify a possible burial place, unconcerated burial grounds are not easy to find via most sources i use.

Oops; since you used the American term "letter carier" I assumed that you meant Boston MA..

Only find one in Yellow Pages in a place called Dogdyke, Boston

Thanks for your replies, I have emailed the person in boston council who is responsible for the boston cemetary according to EK's link above, still not sure which pub this was though, but i'll keep looking.

doh just noticed i've put 1847 and it should be 1867! He was 65 on the 1861 census, in the report on the coroners inquest the verdict 'temporary insanity' is given. His wife had died in 1856 and he had a big family, it's quite sad really.

You could contact the local history group and ask them, there is a site here with some Lincs links but if there is nothing contact Boston library and ask for a contact for the local hostory society/group

Interesting name for a pub given your ancestors occupation by the way (yes he would now be known as a postman) - maybe you could ask how the Inn got its name?
