Immigration to be halted?
Is it now time the politicians halted all immigration from outside the EU? Also to stop issuing student visas from these areas. There cannot be a better time to do this. 1. Student places are oversubscribed. 2.The unemployment figure is heading for 3 million. 3.The rise of the BNP will only increase. 4. Although most Pakistanis are law abiding the ones that do cause trouble have increased due to the unstable nature of Pakistan.

The "main" parties have always been scared of ever saying anything about immigration in their manifestos and speeches.
For that reason it has almost become a non-subject (as Enoch Powell said many years ago).
While many British people moan about immigration there are no huge marches or rioting on the streets so the political parties will never do anything about it (in fact between them all they support and condone it).
The only way the main parties would do anything about it was if a party that DID make a noise about it also got huge votes.
Labour have already said that the BNP will pose a big threat in upcoming European elections, see here

If enough people voted BNP it might scare the other parties in to doing something about immigration. As long as they dont then nothing will be done.

I usually keep out of stuff like this, but it wouldn't surprise me if the government allowed immigration to INCREASE, just to show how unbothered Britain is about this minority, and how valuable Britain sees its ties with Pakistan, how we all need to hold hands and swing together blah blah. You can just see Gordon Brown's jaw dropping ready for the next Britain-killing pile of treachery. Brown, you are finished, your administration is stabbing the country in the back. It needs a bomb in Westminster, a big one, to wake you complacent traitors up.

'The Commonwealth'??????
Why do we need a Commonwealth? This we could easily do without, just look at all the problems it has caused Britain.
Most of the countries of the Commonwealth, kicked the British out. So why didn't we leave it at that? Instead of still making ourselves responsible for them, issuing their peoples with British passports etc. We would not have the immigration problem we now have, if we had took this stance.
The week long Ski Lanka demonstrations that have taken place in our capital, are a prime example of the troubles that our so called Commonwealth citizens have brought to our shores.

Not so odd, me thinks.
In the age of discovery and colonisation, the British along with other civilised nations of the world, took full advantage of the spoils of discovery.
The British were more successful because they not only moved into these countries and took full advantage of the rewards that could be gained by trading etc, but they also ploughed back into the less developed countries most of their expertise, railways, irrigation, dams, roads, schools etc, etc.
After the British moved out, all these things went into decline. Take Zimbabwe for example the rich farming land that the British farmers cultivated, have now reverted back to dry, dusty un-fertilised earth.
Looking back into history this little group of islands we call Britain became the most powerful peoples on earth, just like Romans centuries before. But that is history, today is different, we don't need certain countries to trade with, one trades with whoever has the right goods at the right price.
So what are these 'comforts we enjoy now' thanks to the Commonwealth?
