Tracing someones's creditors
I know someone who was deeply in debt, then did a flit to Australia leaving all their debt behind. What would be the best way of informing creditors etc of the persons present location, and would they be likely to be interested? Thanks

Whilst Australia isn't specifically mentioned it is entirely possible that such a reciprocal agreement exists between the UK and Australia, and don't forget many companies are global.
If you know the creditors, just write to them with the person's full name, last address and current address.
To move abroad leaving debts behind is no better than theft.

The reason why I am doing it is pretty much answered by Ethel. To run up debts, with no intention of paying them, amounting to nearly 100,000 and then run off is basically theft. It wouldn't surprise me if the person is doing the same thing over in Australia. They have no morals. I don't know who the creditors are, and was trying to find out if there was any way of finding out who they are, so they can be informed, and act if they want to?
As a guess-timate, I know its roughly around the 100k mark. Bought a brand new car on credit, had numerous credit cards, and bought his house recently with 100% plus mortgage. Put the keys through a friends letterbox and said sort these out for me, I'm off. A nasty piece of work. Be nice to point the creditiors in the right direction, thats all, to stop it happening to someone else.
