What happens when you are quesioned voluntarily under caution by the police. Do you have your finger prints taken,swabs,dna and photos taken. Will i have to go in a police cell.

I would have thought not, unless you were actually charged with an offence.

you'll be read your rights, "you do not have to say anything.... " and questioned in a fair manner. this will be recorded on tape or dvd. if you're there voluntarily I guess you could choose to leave at any time during the interview, unless you're arrested.

I suspect you need some legal advice before you go.

A person voluntarily being interviewed under caution by the Police is not under arrest, must be told by the interviewing Officer that s/he can leave at anytime unless arrested.

Under the circumstances, you should not be held in a cell, nor have fingerprints, DNA, photo etc taken unless reported for summons, cautioned or having been arrested.

You should also be told what will happen to the tapes etc being used for the interview. If not, ask.
