Hi i have got planning passed to build my new house i am getting a contractor in but i know nothing about mortgages any1 got any tips either fixed or rates i wudnt even know a good rate im looking to borrow 150k over 25 years im told by a friend to ask for 5 years fixed at a rate below 3% does any1 know what the current rate is at persent thanks

The rate varies depending on the lender and what product you chose. If you really are clueless then you are proibably better off making an appointment to see an independant mortgage adviser who can go through your options with you.
