company car tax
Hello
I have a company car (fleet)
I noticed last night that the tax had run out April 09
The company usually just sends out the tax via the post a week ahead (have done for 3 years)
Not even sure if they have re taxed my car or just forgot to send out the new disc?
So if I go to work today and be pulled over by the police will I be done and if so what will I be done for
Thanks

You could face an automatic penalty of 80 as well as a minimum fine of 1000. Your vehicle could be clamped, impounded or even crushed.

Phone the company, and ask if you should go to work in the car given the circumstances, as you are aware this would be illegal. Ask them why you haven't received the new tax disc (it could have been lost in the post). Depending on their answer, ask them what you are supposed to do now. As it would be the company's car which would be impounded and possibly destroyed, ask if they are prepared to provide you with a different car which is fully taxed. Best of luck, but personally there's no way I would drive an untaxed car.,
