Can anyone tell me if you can work in a school office if you have a police caution. I got a caution in 2007 but not arrested. Have worked in a school office since 2002 and told my boss and she was ok about it. My job has been made redundant due to amalgamation and on recommendation from my boss I got another job in a school office. My CRB was never mentioned but I wonder what will happen when it is due again. Is it at the head teachers disgression. It was a mistake and was in the wrong place at the wrong time

The only offences which automatically bar people from working in schools (under rules laid down by the Secretary of State) are those involving sexual misconduct against children.

The governors of a school have discretion as to whether they'll employ someone convicted of (or cautioned for, or suspected of) any other type of offence. Given that you've already been working in a school without any difficulties, it's unlikely that you'll have any problems now.
