camping permission

Does anyone know if we need any permission to allow campers onto our land. We were told that tents can be erected without permission. Is this right

Since the proposed rave seems to be a no-no (see 2 questions down) presumably the need for camping on the land pales into insignificance?
You don't need Planning Permission for the occasional camper, if that is what you meant. If you are setting up a business offering camp-site accommodation, that's different.
